35 Weeks

The end is in sight! Only five weeks to go....

How Far Along: 35 Weeks

Size of Baby: Baby Girl doesn't have much room to maneuver because she's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (about the same weight as a honeydew). Because she is so snug in my womb, she isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times she kicks remains about the same. Her kidneys are fully developed now, and her liver can process some waste products. Most of her basic physical development is now complete — she'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight. Speaking of weight...

Total Weight Gain: 17 lbs! Looks like I had one too many Christmas cookies last week. Ha!

Maternity Clothes: All I wear. Fortunately, everything I bought in the beginning of my pregnancy still fits. I haven't had to go up a size.

Gender: Baby Girl Clarkson!!

Movement: Baby Girl moves all day and NIGHT.

Sleep: Not great. And the bags under my eyes are showing this.

Symptoms: Where to begin...Here is what my weekly update said this week. Your uterus — which was entirely tucked away inside your pelvis when you conceived — now reaches up under your rib cage. If you could peek inside your womb, you'd see that there's more baby than amniotic fluid in there now. Your ballooning uterus is crowding your other internal organs, too, which is why you probably have to urinate more often and may be dealing with heartburn and other gastrointestinal distress. That about sums it up. I've had horrible heartburn. And if I do too much in one day, my feet swell at night. Still have fatigue. And can I count not being able to bend over to put on boots, tights, etc. as a symptom?? Other than that, I feel great. I'm still working out about about five days a week. I think people at the gym look at me like I'm insane but since I've felt good, I'm going to keep at it.

What I miss: The ease of getting up and down, bending over, etc. And of course, sleep!

Cravings: I don't think any one thing but obviously I haven't held back this week :).

Best Moment of the Week: Taking our childbirth classes. It really makes everything seem so real and exciting.

What I am Looking Forward to: My doctor's appointment on Wednesday. I'm excited to be going weekly now. Also, excited for Christmas. It's my first Christmas away from my fam which is pretty hard but I'm looking forward to spending some quality time with the Hubs. I can't believe this is our last Christmas without children.
